Third Anniversary!

It is hard to believe that this site has been active for three years now! What started as a personal wallpaper for my computer has turned into a historic archive of center ice that spans for decades in the NHL, plus many AHL, KHL and ices from many other leagues. I am very thankful for all the hard work that CanuckFanatic92 and Cory Gibson has put in on research and development of the NHL graphics which transformed my small collection into a 99% complete NHL archive. Their time and dedication are the reason this site is still going today. Also I would like to say a huge thank you to all of the fans of our site and our followers on the social networks. From your viewership to your reference photo submissions, you have all helped to make this site bigger and better!

Finally, I thought it would be fun to show you all a couple snapshots of what this site looked like in the early days. These snapshots were taken long before most of our fans had even heard of the site. Needless to say it has come a long way since then.

Detroit Free Press: The Michigan Strategic Fund voted Tuesday to approve $6 million in demolition funds to raze Joe Louis Arena once the Detroit Red Wings move into a new arena on the north end of downtown.

Under terms of the agreement for the demolition funds, the new arena must be built before the demolition money would be freed up for use. The demolition funds would eventually be repaid to the Strategic Fund through new tax revenues captured by the city in the downtown district.

The exact cost of the demolition is not yet known. The $6-million estimate approved Tuesday could go as high as $10 million, although MSF staff said the cost is expected to be closer to the $6 million or even less than that.
